Ben’s story

One of the team heard about Ben, he had been sold for £40 from someone who had been using him as a stud dog for breeding and they were selling some of their dogs. When our team first met Ben it was clear he had been living in not great conditions, he was full of matts and stank to high heaven. He has a dip in one side of his face and his wee looked like flat cola; his eyesight is poor and his hips are not good.

But he was happy and just wanted a cuddle, so he came to us. After several tests we have found out he has liver failure, his prognosis isn’t good; his life is nearing an end. He fathered puppies less than 2 years ago!

Ben will need medication which costs £70 a month. Not only that, but he requires special food which is also quite expensive. As he is underweight, Ben needs to eat three meals a day.

Ben will not be looking for a home. He will stay with us to enjoy what is left of his life. Ben is learning what toys are and loves them! He may never have been to the park and as you can see, he enjoys that too!

To keep up to date with Ben, you can follow him on his very own Facebook page.
