Cilla Black here. Just like the singer; I am cute, funny and very talented.

I am in foster with small dogs and my foster mum. My foster mum says I am very soppy. I like a cuddle and a fuss, I am just like one cuddlebug.

I am 7 years young, labrador mix.

I had been in kennels since I was 6 weeks old until recently.

Although I am good with other dogs I could be an only dog as I love people and children.

I do get very excited around food, also when my foster mum comes home. I’m not aware of my size and I do bounce about a bit then, because I’m happy. So, that’s why I would be better with children who are bigger.

I like to chew toys, eat , sleep and I love my long walks.

Although I am a bit overweight, my foster mum is working on that.

I am ok being left home. I am almost house trained now apart from accidents.

I have come from Spain and have a condition called Leish. Leishmaniasis is a disease that is transmitted by the sand fly Mosquito in Spain, A sand fly has to bite an infected dog and carry the infected blood to the next dog it feeds from and will then infect that dog, You cannot catch Leishmaniasis from a dog with the condition, you need to be bitten by a sandfly and we do not have any in the UK, so a dog with Leish is not contagious to you or your family. Mediterranean Leish is not the same as African Continent Leish which can be transmitted to humans

In the Uk vets do not have much knowledge of this condition and often can give advice that may be over cautious. We use Vets Klinic and they now have a good understanding of the condition.

Dogs who come to the UK with Leish, come with their blood tests and medication. Stress in dogs with Leish can lead to dogs having a higher reading and once settled in a loving home many dogs reading lowers, sometimes to the point they no longer need medication.

This dog has been reserved, which means that they will be meeting people so that a trial can take place. You can still apply for adoption, however please note that if the trial period is successful then Cilla Black will no longer be available to be rehomed.

If you have already been homechecked you may not need to fill out a new application, just email SNDrescue@gmail.com and let us know. Homes already checked will get priority.

Adoption fee is £250 per dog over 12 months old and £300 per dog under 12 months old, unless otherwise agreed. This is payable at the time you take a dog on a two-week trial.
