Clara Bella is a Sabueso Español. She is 10yrs old and we believe she was used as a breeding dog in Spain.
She found herself in a pound in Spain on death row. When we heard about her she was in a bad way, she had a large mammary lump and cherry eye. We agreed to help her with a lady in Spain who raised funds to help with her treatment in Spain, the Mammary lump was removed and she has surgery on her cherry eye.
She had been very thin, but she started to gain a little weight and soon she was on her way to us in the UK.
As soon as she arrived we could see she had an eye infection from her eye lashes irritating her eyes. She has just had this and soon she will be having a dental as we know she has a broken tooth.
Clara Bella is such a sweet heart! She love cuddling up on the sofa and if you join her she will cuddle up to you too! Because of the type of ears she has they often dangle in water bowls or food bowls and she gets the ends messy. She also gets hot ears because of the shape and needs her ears cleaning about once a week with a wet wipe.
She has a very slight heart murmur, but it doesn’t seem to bother her at all and she is happy to go off on nice walks.
Clara does sleep deeply and will often wake with a start if you try to wake her.
Being an older lady we feel Clara would like a quiet life with no young children, she would love them to visit and fuss her though. She gets on very well with all dogs and cats.
