My name is Poppy. I am a very pretty girl who came from Romania on The Happy Bus recently. I am approx 18 months old and have long soft ears.

Although I’m a little shy at first, if you don’t approach me I will come over and check you out when I feel confident. I may even lick your fingers to see what you taste like! Once I know I can trust you, I love nothing more than to follow you around.

I enjoy being walked each day and wear a three point harness with a lead attached together with a sliplead, as this keeps me very safe. I never pull on the lead but I do get frightened when I meet other dogs, so I need a patient owner to help me overcome this fear. The UK is very different from my old home and so having someone beside me to show me the ropes is important. In return for their love and patience, I will snuggle up to them on their bed at night!

Food is one of my weaknesses and although I don’t beg, I love stealing food if you’re out of the room. My foster Mummy made some delicious ‘overnight oats’ the other day and left them out for me when she went for a shower!!! Delicious.

At the moment I don’t like being left alone so I’m looking for a home where someone is home most of the time. Like many former street dogs, I’m abit of a hoarder and tend to do my hoarding when I’m left alone. I will look for shoes to chew… or anything that smells like my foster Mummy.

I like cats and dogs so would be happy to live with them.

Although children are fine and I’ve met very young ones, I think I’d prefer to live with older children age 12+.

Being a rescue from Romania my garden needs to be extra secure and need to be 6ft high, This is not because I am a big dog (I’m a small medium), but because back in my country we are used to having to escape places to keep safe.

This dog has been reserved, which means that they will be meeting people so that a trial can take place. You can still apply for adoption, however please note that if the trial period is successful then Poppy will no longer be available to be rehomed.

If you have already been homechecked you may not need to fill out a new application, just email SNDrescue@gmail.com and let us know. Homes already checked will get priority.

Adoption fee is £250 per dog unless otherwise agreed. This is payable at the time you take a dog on a two-week trial.
